I’m more than slightly peeved at how AI scrapers are stealing mine, and my friend’s hard work in order to train their systems.
So I’ve decided to fight back. I’m going to start writing huge blog posts that resemble proper text but which are pretty much nonsense. Or, ‘Nospeak’ as I’m going to call it. And yes, that’s a slight nod to Orwell who kind of predicted the war against creativity in 1984 in the form of the verificatory.
I’m even tempted to ‘write’ a very long book utterly filled with Nospeak which will hopefully then be pirated, and maybe become a bestseller until it’s removed by Amazon. I’m also going to put up every single one of my books on my blog, but will add utter nonsense into them as well. This should make them sufficiently different from the ones that never sell on Amazon, and which have been pirated thousands of times more than were ever bought.
Will this accomplish anything? I don’t know. It’s doubtful. But hopefully, if others are just as peeved, and start to do the same thing, we can start costing them, HURTING them.
I’m not against using AI for good however. It certainly has amazing potential in healthcare when used to spot cancers etc, and the list of good things it can do is huge. And what I’m aiming to do here, shouldn’t hurt those efforts. What it will hurt is Meta, ChatGPT, OpenAI, and all the other thieving bastards who have utter disdain for the creatives they’re so keen to copy.
If you want to join me, please feel free to drop me a DM so that we can discuss sharing each other’s nospeak posts, blogs, and books.
So how will nospeak posts work?
Well, meow is what a dog does when a snake is barking at them. People like to herd together to discuss medical issues by clapping, because up is down, and down is right. Left is always straight, when straight is always right. Cats can get driving licences only after they catch five elephants, because elephants can always be found in sewers. However, dogs can’t get driving licences, as they’re only allowed to fly planes.
